AGSA’s 2nd Annual Conference is happening on Friday Feb. 27 and Saturday Feb. 28 in the KC Irving Center Auditorium. The final schedule of speakers will go live on our website tonight after 5 pm.

Feb. 28th from 7 PM – 12 am

AGSA’s 2nd annual Wine and Cheese, Live Music event at the Wolfville Farmers’ Market. The party to end off the conference on the right note, and an opportunity to mix and mingle with all Faculty, Staff, Administration of AcadiaU, your fellow graduate students, and the entire community! Come out and enjoy yourself drinking local wine from Avondale Sky Winery, enjoy local cheese from Fox Hill Cheese House, and live music by: Saltgrass & The Valley All-Star Band!

$4 per glass of wine – cheaper than anywhere else in town!

Tickets: $10

Hope everyone is staying warm through this cold snap! Here’s what you need to know for February 9 – 28.

By now you all should have received a few emails with AGSA’s
Call for Abstracts for our upcoming Conference, to be held on Friday Feb. 27 and Saturday Feb. 28. If you haven’t seen it yet, I have conveniently attached the Call for Abstracts to this email as well!

We at AGSA are looking forward to learning more about the amazing research happening on our campus!

AGSA is VERY EXCITED to announce you will be getting LUNCH along with your conference package, and a free ticket to In Vino Veritas for the total conference fee of $10.00

*If we couldn’t get you signed up to present before.. maybe
free food is the best enticement?

We have EXTENDED the
deadline for Abstract Submissions AGAIN: Due by NEXT SUNDAY: February 15th

** We really need GRADUATE students to take advantage of
this affordable conference opportunity! We truly hope to get a many more of you signed up to attend and present your research!!

*** If you are too nervous about presenting, we recommend
you still attend. You are welcome to attend the conference, free of charge, and listen and learn from the wonderful presentations.

The AGSA team want to echo the ASU sentiments regarding the sad news and difficult time we are facing as a community. Please ensure you are supporting one another and using the resources available on

AGSA Conference Feb. 27&28 – Abstract deadline extended FEB. 8th!

We have received some awesome submissions to the AGSA 2015 Research Conference so far – thank you to all those who have submitted an abstract!

We know how busy everyone is this time of year, so we are extending our submission deadline to *Sunday, February 8th* to give everyone a little extra time.

A reminder that proposals must include:

1.First, last name and field of study;
2.Academic institutional email address
3.Academic institutional affiliation, including current status in graduate program
4.Name and email address of supervisor
5.Title of proposed paper
6.Abstract of no more than 200 words

ASU Election Debate

The Election Debate is this THURSDAY (Feb. 5th) at 5pm in the MacKeen room in SUB. This is a wet/dry event! Come and hear what the candidates have to say and be an informed voter on Election Day next Tuesday the 10th!

WHY should Graduate Students go? We are all represented by the ASU – and if you think Grad students matter at Acadia, or should matter more – than you need to get out there and ask important questions at this debate!!
